Jimmy Fallon’s truck should be Silverado High Country

Jimmy Fallon's truck

The Chevy High Country has a few features that are lacking on the F-150 King Ranch.

Jimmy Fallon’s Truck

Late night talk shows like “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon” are incredibly popular and a great slice of Americana. Historically, “The Tonight Show” going all the way back to Johnny Carson and Jack Parr are where we learn to steal the best jokes we tell to our friends and coworkers who go to bed to early. On a recent episode of “The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon,” Fallon did a stunt where he invited 10 Ford sales people from around the country to New York to compete to see who was going to get to sell Fallon his truck. This got us thinking, Jimmy Fallon’s truck choice could be better. Instead of going with a Ford F-150 King Ranch, he could have gone with a Chevy Silverado High Country. Maybe he will read this and change his mind, much to the chagrin of his Ford sponsors. Read the rest of this entry »

Breakdown: How I Met Your Mother Finale. (Tons of spoilers)

How I met Your Mother Finale

Social media was fairly evenly split on the How I Met Your Mother Finale.

How I Met Your Mother Finale

Those of us at the Cavender Chevrolet Blog really love bringing you news about all of the excellent Chevy cars, trucks and SUVs available at the Cavender Chevrolet showroom. But from time to time, it is fun to stretch our legs a bit and discuss things outside of the automotive realm. Last night (Monday, March 31), was the finale of one of the highest rated sitcoms of the last 10 years, “How I Met Your Mother.” The story was of five friends in their early 30s finding their way, sometimes clumsily, through life and love. However, when the “How I Met Your Mother” finale was over, social media was split almost evenly along “Loved it” and “Hated it” lines. This seems like a good way to get our two cents into the discussion. Read the rest of this entry »

2014 Silverado show more efficiency than F-150

2014 Chevy Silverado vs. 2014 Ford F-150

The 2014 Chevy Silverado is ready to over take the F-150 in short order.

2014 Chevy Silverado vs. 2014 Ford F-150

Ford versus Chevy is one of those long time and well known rivalries that challenges oil vs. water as to which one is fiercer. In the nearly century that Chevrolet and Ford have been competitors they have been in an arms race to see who can outperform whom in almost every segment of the automotive industry. The release of the 2014 Chevy Silverado was a warning shot across the bow of Ford that the Silverado is coming for the leader. In our best effort to reinforce that idea, we are pitting the 2014 Chevy Silverado vs. the 2014 Ford F-150 to show off the improvements made to the new Silverado. Read the rest of this entry »

There is still time before the end of Chevy Truck Month and the Chevy Open House Event.

Chevy Truck Month Chevy Open House

We are all slaves to the clock. Many times, much to out chagrin, our time is now or own. You have been juggling several dozen things this month and you may not have had time to make it to Cavender Chevrolet for Chevy Truck Month or the Chevy Open House Event. Luckily there are 31 days in March this year, so you still have some time to get down to our showroom in Boerne, TX and take advantage of these outstanding deals and take the time to get familiar with some of our vehicles as well as the services we offer. Remember, Chevy Truck Month and the Chevy Open House Event is over at the close of business Monday.

Test Drive GenericFrom our point of view, we would like every month to be Chevy Truck Month. The 2014 Chevy Silverado, available at Cavender Chevrolet has been nothing but impressive since the first ones arrived to our showroom last fall. Among the several reasons that the 2014 Silverado has proven to be an impressive piece of equipment is because of the care in which the new EcoTec3 family of engines is able to outperform and save more fuel, while towing more weight than the Ford F-150 or Ram 1500. Additionally, there isn’t enough that can be said about the interior on the 2014 Silverado, after a tough day working hard, the supportive seats will be a welcome respite.

The 2014 Chevy Malibu is one of the vehicles on special this month.

The main goal of the Chevy Open House Event, is to show off some of the excellent passenger sedans and SUVs we have to offer at Cavender Chevrolet. Models like the 2014 Malibu and Cruze are two of the best vehicles in their class and we want everyone to know it and take advantage of the things that have placed these vehicles in that position. Also, the Chevy Open House Event is meant to show off the Chevrolet Complete Care program that is available with every 2014 Chevy vehicle. This program offers some of the best warranties and customer protections available.

getting pulled over

If you have been speeding, this is not what you want to see.

Getting Pulled over

In our previous Cavender Chevrolet Blog we wondered which would be better to drive across the state, a Camaro ZL1 or a Camaro Z/28. Some would call it a draw; while some would call it a race to who can ruin their insurance premiums and driving record faster. It is the latter part of that statement that we are most concerned about. Certainly, everyone reading this is a perfect traffic law-abiding citizen and never takes liberties with unpopulated stop signs or expansive stretches of highway. We thought this would be a good time to review some do’s and don’ts of getting pulled over by the police. Read the rest of this entry »

Camaro ZL1 vs Camaro Z/28

It may not have a radio, but the Camaro Z/28 will pass traffic like its standing still.

Camaro ZL1 vs. Camaro Z/28

With spring around the corner, it is time to think about getting ready for that first warm day where you can open the windows and just drive. If there is anything our great state of Texas has a lot of its roads. But what would the perfect vehicle be to take off and release the last remnants of cabin fever. For the sake of argument, let’s choose the 2014 Chevy Camaro. The Camaro is a classic American “Pony Car” and an institution in its own right. But which version of the Camaro would be the best for going for a drive. Today we are going to look at the Camaro ZL1 vs. the Camaro Z/28. Read the rest of this entry »
